Position Description:


The Representative is responsible for handling a high volume of calls, research and resolution of premium and/or refund discrepancies, and processing and posting the premium payments when necessary. Additionally, timely refunds of credit card payments, identification and reporting of system, coding, and general posting errors and daily analysis of correspondence are also critical responsibilities of this position. These duties, along with any other management assignments, require close attention to detail, mathematical aptitude and excellent problem solving ability.

Typical phone calls received, are from students requesting refund of premium, cancellation of coverage, and various requests for information regarding effective dates and coverage. Critical thinking ability and resourcefulness are two essential requirements of this position.

Human Resources Internal Candidate Requirements:


  • Must obtain immediate supervisor/manager approval upon applying for job posting

  • Completion of at least six months of service in current position

  • Excellent job performance

  • Acceptable attendance records

  • No current written or verbal disciplinary actions

  • Able to meet strenuous deadlines

  • Ability to research and resolve errors related to coverage posting and balancing

  • Ability to perform/assist with multiple job functions within the Premium department

  • Able to work with little or no supervision

Skills / Requirements



Requirements:


  • 1+ year of experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties

  • Basic MS Excel and Word Knowledge

  • College Degree or HS diploma/GED with 5+ years preferred in the healthcare/ insurance industry or a customer support or service role
