Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking a CAD P&ID Drafter (with mid-level design experience in Instrument, Electrical & Controls)

  • Meet or exceed the company and customer safety standards
  • Comply with all company and customer procedures, engineering practices and other standards
  • Read and fully understand P&ID’s and other documents which describe the scope of work
  • With minimal supervision prepares simple to complex engineering P&ID drawings
  • With minimal direction performs P&ID updates from basic red-line (as-built) data supplied
  • Demonstrates proficient skills in CAD utilizing client’s current version of AutoCad and Document Management System
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ISA and Piping symbology
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of P&ID’s, One-Lines, Instrument Loop Diagrams and Schematics
  • Proficiently identify field; mechanical equipment, electrical, instrumentation and piping components
  • Ability to create, modify and maintain P&ID drawings using proper drafting standards and follows Management of Change (MOC) information (MOC redline/comments)
  • Ability to apply client Engineering Standards as part of day-to-day technical support of assignments
  • Ability to interpret Engineering mark-ups and accurately make drawing corrections
  • Ability to field as-built P&IDs relative to design of project scope and/or common field changes for Project Closure and PHA purposes
  • Ability to create/modify non-P&ID drawings such as; mechanical, inspection drawings, plot plans and overall general drafting
  • Work closely with Design and PSV groups to: assist with Project P&ID Drawings, as built P&IDs, and PSV field verification updates
  • Maintain cooperative, efficient, and good team working environment
  • Communicate, both verbally and in written form in a professional manner

Skills / Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years industrial experience working in; P&ID Drafting & Walkdown in chemical and refining manufacturing industry
  • Experience in piping equipment and piping components as currently used in chemical and refining manufacturing facilities including; pumps, compressors, exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, towers, pipelines, valves, control valves, filters, piping process codes and piping specifications
  • Experience in instrumentation and electrical systems as currently used in chemical and refining manufacturing facilities including; electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, plan drawings, conduit and cable tray layouts, pressure, temperature, flow, density, and other instrumentation, instrument loops, PLC DCS and interlocks
  • Field experience, able to wear required PPE and drive safely to job-site for verification and as-built of drawings
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk AutoCAD 2017 / 2019
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products such as; Word, Excel and Outlook
