    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    Provide student with appropriate learning activities and experiences in Welding to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills in Welding and to prepare the student for college and/or the workplace.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education/Certification:
    • Associates degree in Welding required and equivalent wage-earning experience as required by certification (minimum Statement of Qualification (SOQ) of 3 years of Creditable working experience in assigned area.
    • Valid Texas Welding license, endorsements, and training required
    • Demonstrated competency in the Career and Technical Education subject area assigned
    • NCCER Craft Instructor certification in the area assigned or ability to obtain with the first year of employment.
    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • General knowledge of Welding curriculum and instruction
    • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
    • Ability to supervise student field experiences in career area assigned
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • In-depth knowledge of structural fabricating, repair and maintenance, MIG, TIG,
    • and ARC, 0XY/ACE welding and cutting and plasma cutting.
    Experience:
    • Three or more years of wage-earning experience in the area of certification
    CALENDAR: 187 work days
