  •   Primary Purpose:
    Ensure district compliance with state and federal requirements for the free and reduced meals. Organize and manage the routine work activities of an office and provide services to campuses and district personnel.

    High school diploma or GED

    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    Effective communication and interpersonal skills, bilingual (Spanish) preferred
    Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases
    and do word processing
    Strong organizational, filing and record keeping skills
    Basic math skills
    Ability to use calculator (10-key by touch)
    Ability to handle busy telephone

    One to two years in business or administrative office environment.

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:
    1. Review applications for the Free and Reduced Meal Program.
    2. Accurately determine eligibility and status of applicants.
    3. Communicate effectively with applicants by telephone or in written documentation.
    4. Maintain physical and computerized departmental files.
    5. Compile pertinent data as needed when preparing state and local reports.
    6. Enter alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source document using online computer terminal or personal computer.
    7. Gather and distribute data to and from cafeteria managers.
    8. Work closely with purchasing regarding grocery orders, delivery schedules and product bids. Deal directly with vendors
    9. Inform cafeteria managers of any changes in deliveries or products.
    10. Assist with interviewing and hiring process.
    11. Provide instruction and training for new employees and in-service training.
    12. Performs other tasks as may be assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Point of Sales, PC computer and related software, fax, calculator

    Maintain emotional control under stress. Sitting for long periods of time. Occasional lifting of supplies and material. Possible travel district wide. Moderate walking and bending.
