  •   PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    Perform professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems. Assess the psychological and psycho-educational needs of students referred to special education services.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Master's Degree in Psychology or Related Field
    Valid Texas License as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologist
    Prior Experience-Preferred

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Select and administer assessments and observations to evaluate the intellecutal, emotional, and behavioral functioning of students to determine eligibility for speical education services.
    Interpret data to develop psychological reports and behavior managment plans.
    Assist in development of systematic procedures to accumulate relevant data on students who are part of the campus's intervention programs.
    Conduct or participate in the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings.
    Conduct group, invdividual, and family counseling sessions and facilitate therapy and consultation services with students demonstrating need.
    Provide staff development training on assigned campus and/or the district to assist school personnel with indentification and understanding of students with emotional, social, and behavioral disturbances.
    Consult with parents, teachers, and relevant staff concerning edcuational needs of students and interpret assessment data.
    Consult with psychologists, psychiatrists, medical doctors, and community agencies concerning intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning of students as needs.
    Participate in development and implementation of the district's crisis intervention plan related to students' emotional needs.
    Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of psychological services and assessment procedures and make recommendations and changes in accordance with findings.
    Maintain positive and effective relationships with supervisors, colleagues, students, and parents.
    Maintain effective organizational and communication skills to comply with all mandated timelines and comply with necessary deadlines.

    SALARY RANGE:
    S2 -Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (197 Days)
    $56,000-$65,000 Based on Experience
